Hello

Doris my 1.2 mk1 Punto has been playing up for the last week or so. Since i stuck some redex in she has been idling a little shakily but most worryign is that when you try to pull off quick or just give a bit of gas you get a judder and if really bad a sort of venting noise from the front.

Anyone any ideas?

hi m8 i had this problem a few week back. i changed the plugs/leads and air filter and everything was ok after that.

try these first and see what happens

Yeah do that first, also consider the fuel filter... is there any indication of the engine overheating?

I will certainly give it a try. I have no overheating even after an hour in the heat stuck in a traffic jam never went past 1/2 way on gauge. I am not losing any water and there are no air locks as far as i can tell. So dont think headgasket prob.

Will let you know how it goes,

I replaced the plugs and rebuilt the leads as the cables still flexed and Multimeter gave good readings. Connectors were a bit far down the wire as well.

I have to say Doris has never driven so well since i had her!! she pulls off very quickly (span a few times at first as didnt expect that much difference!) it killed off a few of the rattles as well!! Only another 100 noises to go!!

I would like to sayu it was easy to do but the muppets who did the plugs last time were a but generous with the pressure to tighten them!! Hence severely rapped knuckles/ wrist/ elbow!!! and 2 broken rachets!!
