Guys, I need a new pair or rear cylinders as they are pissing fluid out tonto style.
I have called me local dealer (Andrew Pages) for a quote on parts, but says there are 2 styles for the model of my car.
As mine are rusted so bad i cant tell what make they are, i was wondering if anyone would know what I have?
Its a 1.1 55S P regd (Non ABS)
Apparently although the same size cylinder, the bolt holes and brake pipe nipple bolts are placed different...

Sorry for being so vague guys, :bang: but any help will be gratefully recieved.

did you give them the chassis no.?

I did - that was the 1st thing I did. thats when they said they have 2 makes - Bosch and summat else for it.
Im confused cos i thought they would all be the same for non ABS mk1s....but i was obviously wrong.
To settle all arguements, ill just tkae it off and bring it to the supplier when i order some more.....(y)

it'll be luca's or bendic's or maybe even valeo, (french motorfactor).

when i replaced my rear cylinders (seized solid, two of them, the other two were nearly solid) and replaced my brake fluid it made SOOO much difference, now I can brake at 50mph+ really hard as I like and not have to fight with teh car to keep it in a straight line, although I think their seizing up again as either braking performance is trailing off or I'm getting used to it:mad:

by two different kinds of cyl i think he means <sep 98, and >sep 98, my car was registered in mar98 and yet it has >sep 98 brakes on it!!! (I found out when the rear pads wouldn't fit!, and then again when the brake cylinders were about 1.5" away from the end of the brake line, so we put new brake lines in as the old ones were manky anyway:rolleyes:

Tenner  - thats good! Andrew Pages - my nearest trade supplier are trying to slap me for 15 big ones plus VAT.
Got brand new shoes for it - just need the cylinder to round it off.
Dread to think what else i find as this project rolls on

thanks for info guys - top notch as per (y)
