help new member here

hello. have never used this site before and was hoping i could get some help. the other day i was on the motorway with my 2 kids and the car just died on me. called the aa and they towed me home and they have said it is the cam belt.
i have a a quote from my mates boyfriend of 150 quid to replace it. as i dont know anything about cars and my hubby is as useless with them as me, i dont know if this is a good price

can anyone offer some light on this? its a red punto 50s 1.2 n reg

thank you

emma

that seems a fair price, if you aren't sure ring up some garages, good luck! Alex

seems a bit much for mates rates, its £20-£25 for the bits, thats belt and tensioner, and half to three quaters of an hour work at the most

At 150 id expect a garage to be doing it. About the right price ,but not from a mate
