OPPPPS caps
ok i have 17s on my mk1 and i have no idea what tyre pressure they should be, i think i should put some air in them just dont wanna do it too much
help???
standard wheels I think the book says 32 all round although not got mine to check anymore. Used to run my 15's with 195/50 tyres on 34psi front and 31psi rear.
Well this lunch time was thinking yeah ill go check the air in me tyres so went to tescos OUT OF BLOODY ORDER! then to a shell and out of order
so went to a BP garage looked fine etc so took the lil cap off and connected the hose and it just DEFLATED the tyre!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH so went to another shell one with a half flat tyre and that machine i think was fooked as well! so i got a bit of air in the tyre but ill go to a trusty total after work but sooooo much hassle!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
hahaha I know the feeling with those machines. Luckily the Fix n Go kit I had came with an electric pump which ran off the car lighter, just used that all the time.
It's useful for stock tyres I guess, not much use for your 17's mind... Found that site when my father-in-law said a 2.0 Diesel Astra should only have 24PSI and needed proving wrong!
My garage told me to drive it a bit then check the wear of the tyres to determine my optimum pressure. Wearing more on the inside = take pressure out, wearing more on outsides = put more pressure in.
EDIT: OK that was a dumbass statement...the guy that works at my local garage told me to, not my garage LOL
