Help Please,


I have a 95 punto 55 with a strange problem, I dont have any brake lights when the car is cold, but after 5 - 10 minutes they work fine. I have changed the bulbs and checked the fuse!

Any Ideas.

check the brake switch under the brake pedal,maybe a bit of corrosion making breaking the connection for the first few tries,quite cheap to replace anyway

I had a dodgy brake switch. I tried fiddling with it and I could get it to work sometimes but after a while it woudl give up again and I'd notice cars up my arse if I had to stop quickly.

It's one of those Fiat daft designs that has no room for adjustment. It's basically 'set' when you install it, and a seal is broken when you push down and hence it always remembers when to come on. They're a relatively common failure. If you can isolate the problem as that, just replace it, should cost you no more than £15-20.
