hi, i've just bought a 2004 fiat punto 5Dr Active, i've noticed the airbag light is staying on, i just wondered what i can do about it and if it's a big problem, thanks for your replies, Alex.

take it to dealer as will probably need new part section wiring loom.Not a big or expensive job.

If its under second year warranty nothing....not covered under 3rd year.Did you buy it from dealer....under 30day warranty?
Loom section is only a few quid (fiver odd) labour might be up to a hour.

hi again, i never thought yes its still under warranty, i have just turned 17 and got the car tonight and am paranoid about things going wrong, ill call the fiat dealer tommorow, i appreciate your help mate

Hi, just used the car today and the airbag light went off after a few seconds as it should and hasnt come on since, i think i'll still get it seen to as it's still under warranty

lol the light has come back on, to transfer my warranty it costs 80 something pounds!!!! rip off i think.......

Have had to take mine back for the airbag light several times - always seems to be the glovebox side. I think it could be a common fault as i have been told they have quite a few coming back to have the wiring rerouted or the key switch on the side of the dashboard replaced..

Yes Grizzler there is a wiring loom addition that will cure the switch problem,unfortunally its dealer fit only.

i still think £80 is a bit steep to transfer a warranty! you're already buying tghe car, but because i didnt buy it off them they want money off me!

well its done a little over 5k and all the book says is it's due a service at 12k but its 18month old, im going to ring fiat tommorow ill let everyone know
Ahhh your paying the £80 to have warranty reinstated not transfered as it should of had a service at 1 year.

it was to transfer the warranty but i was told that the car doesnt need a service until 12k miles and not at 1 year, SO.. if its done 3k miles after a year it doesnt need a service, ill find out about it tommorow ;p
