Has anyone got a new punto and tried connecting a "universal" adapter to the cigar lighter socket? We used to be able to connect things to previous cigar lighter sockets but the new punto socket appears too shallow to get a connection - anyone any ideas?

Hmmmm.. it works OK on my 1995 Punto, but i have to admit it seems to be a lot shallower than on most cars. Does the adapter just keep popping out or is it in there and is getting no power?

Hi Steve, it doesnt to go far enough in to be able to make a connection and it certainly doesnt connect to the power. This means on some of the new puntos it will be impossible to use things such as car-vacs, phone chargers, mobile cd players etc unless someone knows of a fix as the fiat dealers dont seem to. Thanks

All I can think of is that you go to a breakers yard and get one from there thet can replace the one you get with the car.. not a great option on a new car though..
