This is probably a really really newbish question, i have a 1.1l mk1 punto and want to go faster without buying a new car, would it be suitable to even consider fitting a supercharger or turbo if so which one??

im thinking about getting a k&n induction kit and a back box will this add much performance, what other things could i combine with these to heighten performance

will the induction kit and exhaust backbox combo add alot,

how much roughly??

maybe 5-10 bhp if lucky, the 1.2 people have nothing to worry about though ;)

K+N isnt the best induction kit for that 1108 unit though, much better on the market

Post a budget because theres a huge variation in prices and search the forum for ideas!

He needs to let us know what sort of budget he has though or we could be here all year suggesting ways to improve performance.

£100 - don't bother.
£100 - £200 - induction kit or larger throttle body.
£200 - £400 - add an exhaust.
£400+ mild engine mods.

I have a '60' as a base but the same principles apply

I have an induction kit - self built so cost me ~ £30

list of what I plan to do:

'75' manifold
Exhaust - got to think about this one a lot (lots of criteria)
Remap
40mm TB (from Tricker...)
maybe get a proper GSR induction kit (with BMC CDA?)
modified internals

they will all come eventually but for now my insurance is expensive anyway without adding mods.

have a gander over to www.clubfirepower.co.uk there are people there that know how to squeeze every last horse power from the FIRE engines.

The 750 motor club uses the 1108 FIRE engine in some of their cars and they are getting about 80-85bhp from them... un-turbo'd.

no idea if 1.2 MPI or 75 kit will fit the 1.1, but it in the 1.2 its good, so that would jack you to ~65-70bhp (whole lot, head, cam, inlet mani, TB, injection kit, hosing, wiring from injectors, injection pump, ecu (and locks to match it), fuel pump, etc
then a big ass TB from tricker, a GSR induction kit, a supersprint exhaust and you will be smoking the sporting 1.2 16v fellers:devil:

thats my ultimate plan, but I have only managed the 75 conversion, everything else would jack my insurance and I can't afford it till next september, and the tb I am awaiting a good used one to send off to tricker:cry:
