I'm paying my tax this morning at either £96 0r £175 - Its gone up since last year a fiver on the 12 months or £3 on the 6 - My cars a punto 1.9 - My mate has a Peugeot 1.9, and he's telling me his is £115 for the year - Though I ant seen his car, is telling porkies or what, or am I paying too much

Anyone else taxing on a 1.9 jtd this month or circa this time paying the same

Did you know that you can pay online now, ive just paid mine and it took literally only a few minutes to do. You must have one of the new style MOT's certificates though that are stored on the MOT data base. All you do is log onto the DVLA website, go to the appropriate link and enter the reference number from your renewal notice. The system checks you have valid MOT and that you have insurance - if all checks out ok then you pay.............soooooo easy. Your new tax disc is despatched and you should receive it within 5 working days.

Hi, tried it but it only works if your years insurance for the tax disc is currently running when you apply and will still be running when the tax disc starts, as I tried to tax online but my old insurance finished 2 days before the tax disc starts and the replacement insurance wasn't online until it started so I still had to go to the Post Office to tax my car(£190 they wanted!!)

yeh i was made up when i heard about this got online straight away and did it, tax disc arrived save and sound. Only thing is the charge they give up for doing it online, i think it was about £2.50, but its nothing really when you dont have to queue up in the post office haha

You only get charged the £2.50 if you use a Credit Card, paying by Debit Card is free (y)
