Hi I have just had a Fiat Dealer inform me that I have a problem with ABS pumps. My Fiat Punto JTD 1.9 Dynamic 2002 developed a fault after a rear end shunt. Firstly the Airbag Failure light was on and it was taken to the Dealer and returned to me reset. When the car was returned I found that the Speedo was reading 40MPH when stationary and when moving was all over the place I could not tell what speed I was doing. The Dealer has told me that this was due to the ABS Pumps being corroded or a faulty harness (whatever that is) Could cost me £1300 - 1500 to have put right. The car is 4 years old and has only done 40,000. Can any advise on this as we thought the Speedo sensor is on the gearbox. The diagnostic machine they use showed an ABS fault. Help please.
