I now have the complete interior wiring harness from an 85 ELX in my 60S, so I've got extra speakers, fog's working, central locking (Remote suposidly), electric windows, roof mounted clock, And all importantly a boot light:rolleyes:

Right, it was from a 1998 S reg model and it has a yellow relay in the glovebox fuse box, and has a little black control module next to back right speaker (not sure if its remote locking or speaker, like a crossover, related), but it has a little green light, that doesn't light up, and a little reset type button, tried the button but nothing.

Anyway, I found a key that fitted the car, it was a recut Non fiat one, with no button, but it does have a little red insert in it, and also a key thats a bit bigger with a button inthe centre of it, but the key was so worn it wouldn't turn the lock, looked similar to the workign one but not sure. anyway, pressing the button (battery is new) does nothing.

How can I get a working central locking key made up? or just a blip blip box?bet its gonna cost a fortune:rolleyes: :(

Hmm, ive not seen a punto with the blipper in the key, my remote control opeing is the Meat M20 and looks like this:

(sorry took it off my phone Walkman W900i :( )

It has the yellow relay in the glovebox department and thats it, nothing else. I dont know what the key is, it may be the opeing button, but are you sure it isnt just one of those ones with a light for seeing the keyhole in the dark?

If you just want a simple remote locking solution you can do this for around £50. Just buy a Meta kit from eBay, you then simply replace the yellow relay from the glove box (like you've seen) and fit a new one, the only difference is this will have a small wired antenna.

Alternatively if you want the official key they supplied with the sporting and above they look like follows; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIAT-PUNTO-MK1-ECU-LOCK-AND-KEY-SET-WITH-REMOTE-LOCKING_W0QQitemZ4624318111QQcategoryZ10382QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem. Not sure how they work with relays etc. but you can see the button on that.

As for the meta kit for £50, they seem a great buy and they were fitted in some of the fiats from new (like my one). I think Meta must have been their contractor.

my key is a bit like that one in the sporting kit @ £165, but the key is more of a D shape than a simple key shape (maybe its off a mk2 or a marea instead(n) )

and also the black box in my boot looks like the sporting kit box, I got it to flash, only when its locked and even then I had to 'reset it' by like holding it down for 10sec, now it flashs, which is maybe good.

I have a yellow relay, a really big one, but it has no wire. so maybe not the meta system, but just bog standard fiat remote locking.

I might get the meta system as it looks cool, or I'll bug the scrap yard till they give me the key or give me the number of the auction place so I can ask them or email a pic and ask if they have one that could have been with that car (they usally just throw keys in a big bucket at the yard, it wasn't there though(n) nothing that shape and colour

my key I picked up looks like the blue one on the left, exactly, I think its from the cinq sporting next to the punto I pulled bits from.

If I take the yellow relay from there, then would it work?

do the cinqs use the meta system too?

my RCL key is broken, the button inside came off the little board thing.

works out cheaper to get an alarm that operates the CL aswell.

my key is a big fat one with a button on the side btw
