I'm a new user and not really sure how to use this..........
Anyways here goes, i've had my Fiat punto 60s (1998) since January and up until now have had no problems at all, a few weeks ago i heard this strange tapping type noise coming from the engine - as my dad is a mechanic he had a look and said it was to do with the cam belt, anyway had a new cam belt fitted and all seemed fine. Then yesterday the car has started making an awful sqeaking noise (mainly in lower gears) and also noticed the tapping sound has started again but not as loud and have only recently had a new belt fitted........my dad now suggests the water pump could be the problem and was probably the problem originally because even when driven a short distance the fans come on when pulled up.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?!
