After just replacing the head gasket on my missuses car (along with associated head skimmed, bolts, timing belt, thermostat and fan switch) all seems fine, car starts and runs fine and smooth, but the tickover idle speed of the engine even when warm is arround 1200 RPM.

Not sure as to what this was before as I never drive the car, but it does seem high to me. I checked usual stuff like throttle cable adjustment, all connectors etc on throttle body, disconnecting battery for a couple of hours for an ECU reset, but to no avail. When starting the car cold, idle speed is higher, and it does drop once warm, just stays a bit high.

Thing is, MOT due soon, and something sticks in my mind from a previous cars failure about idle speed/emissions, so I am hoping someone can shed some light on things, or if there's no need to worry about it.

BTW, it's an 8v 1.2

Cheers in advance.
