I got a punto 1.2 hlx which needed a new dashboard, I ordered one through fiat and I have now fitted it, but the LEDS at the bottom of the dash board flash, i;ve spoken to a fiat dealer who says that it need resetting, does any body know how to do this, as the new clocks cost £248 and now fiat want £50 to reset them, which i thinks a bit steep.

Any idears about DIY resetting?

After replacing the speed / revcounter unit, the digital clock, gear indicator display and on board computer display, which is located at the bottom of the unit is flashing. After putting the new unit in and turning the ignition on the display the LED display started flashing after speaking to a fiat dealer they informed me that i had to book the car in so it could be connected to the Fiat Exmanine computer to be reset.

I would like to do this me self as when i bought the new speedo and rev unit this was not mentioned to me.

Hope this is the information you need

Much better, your first post mentioned dashboard so I assumed you fitted the entire thing.

Erm I'm afraid I can't help but I'll bring this thread to the attention of a couple of peeps who might.

custards right, the car needs to go to a dealer for proxi alignment using examiner. Sorry but you cant do it yourself.

NumanR on my mobile, hows that for dedication

Do you know if the dial in the dash tie into the main harness?
Or does the engine have its own loom?

Im pretty sure the dials have to be "Matched" to the whole of the wiring loom throughout the car if you change them but i havent worked on a punto yet!

I don't know about the harness, all the clock has is one connector.

Thank you all for youe imput, but i will had to bite the bullet and go to the dealer.

:yuck:
