Hi,

Im looking to convert mine, ive been offered the solenoids and wiring off a write off car of the same year. what i want to know is.

can you operate the central locking by the key or just the fob or both?

the reason is it wont come with a fob so i need it to work with the key.

also has anyone done this?

C/locking will have switches for the drivers door and probably passengers to activate the C/locking via the key

oooo just wat i was looking for, is there any chance you could put some pics up of what youve got wire wise as im looking to this my self just wonderin what ive gotta get from a donar, PLus you dnt need the remote all you need is the key mate, but you can get the kits off ebay every now and then, so you get the fob and the brain!

the fiat kits with yellow relays on ebay, are for mk1s and brava/o

i got lost nd made a long stop at puntomk2 hehe, no i was talkin bout the blue ones with the big horrible blue fobs, i aint seen one on der for a lil while so one should be comin up, but no good for me as i have no central lockin for it to remote

whip off the door panels and see if the wireing is already there, if it is then i will be easy

think i might have to, or if any1 else who hasnt got c/l nd have had der door cards off nd noticed it was der would be good:worship: , think its gonna be a sunday job pretty busy this week, wen would u recommend the cambelt to be changed, cause ive been told 50,000 nd ive hit that so gotta get it done plus is it hard to do urself? (sorry its a bit of subject)

is yours a 16v or 8v if its a 16v i would do it every 40k

its only a lil 8v

its best to do the 8v at 50k but if it snaps no damage happens to the engine, its a safe engine no way pistons can hit the valves, so you just fit new cam belt kit and away you go,
