I am afraid to say I am seriously getting the mod bug real bad. I started small with cd player, then to full ICE, alloys, pedals etc. Who knows what nxt. No doubt you've seen my K&N post. |)

I have seen some nice titanium door pins to match and wondered how easy and whats involved to get the door panel off to access the locking pins

Did you have the fish? No...I ate it.

If you are talking about the Mk1 its easy.
Grab the plastic pins with some pliers and pull them off (try not to twist too much).
Just in the hole you will see the metal crimped rod they were on, because they aren't threaded like some cars you will need to glue the pins on.
I used chemical metal, After filling 70% of the pin up I lightly positioned them on the metal rods. As you push one down the door will obviously lock, push the pins down to the prefered depth and wait for them to set.
Job done.
