If you're sure the procedure has worked, it may (emphasis on the may) be a dashboard thing. See I've had warning lights flicker or stay on before even when the engine was off and the key out of the ignition. Of course that's why I then went on to ignore my battery warning light - only for the car to die coming out of uni one evening... (the 'new' alternator fitted by this slightly dubious garage had failed after just one month).
Anyway I'm rambling, these light things seems more common to me at this time of year when it's cold and often wet, but I should stress this is just one theory I'm throwing in here and it could be way off. Personally, I'd have the suspect parts checked by someone who really knows what they're doing.
