Where near the gear stick is there a good earth point? He's connecting some sorta dock for something and requires an earth point near the gear stick as his 'dock' is being put there and it came supplied with only a 10cm earth cable? He doesn't wanna go running loadsa xcable back to the battery if he don't need to?

Stereo, cigarette lighter, drill a hole into the bodywork crimp a tag onto the wire and self tapper it down.

if you take off the centre console/ gear surround there's an earth point right underneath it iirc... or there are about 5 bolts holding the gear stick to the body...
