Hi Punto People, I've just popped over from cento land with a question from brother, hope you an help.

Car is a Punto Mk2, 2000 model FIRE SPi. Temp warning light is flashing.

I've done a search and I think I've found that there is no radiator fan switch on this model, its all done by the ECU. Is this correct?

If it is, I suppose there is no way to short out the fan switch to check that the fan is running at the correct speed and amperage, is this correct?

The car has a good water level, and no mayonaise in the oil, so its early days yet, but i would want it resolved before the ambient temp begins its rise towards Summer, ha.

Cheers

D

I dunno, do these Punto people know anything :p

The switching is done by the ECU, but that means that there is relay doing the actual current switching somewhere. Maybe a flick through the owners manual, or a look at the Punto haynes manual would point you toward said relay.

I think also, it'd be MPI. afaik there are no MK2 SPI engines.
