As the title says... since I put 15" alloys on, the steering has been super light, i don't mind so much but it's a bit twitchy at times... anyone know how i can fix this?

And also, since i put the alloys on, i've has a slight vibration in the brake pedal, only for a second or so then it's gone... any ideas?

have you checked presures are not too high? have you got the matching pair on the front?

They're at about 38psi i believe, i just took them all into the tyre place and told them to check the pressures and put some air in if needed. i'll let some out tomorrow then. and yes, the newest tyres are on the front.

Serin - AFAIK they came off a very similar mk1 punto.

Would high tyre pressure cause the vibrations in the brake pedal?

38 is loads too much 29 front 28 rear, peddle could have always done it, some times you don't notice this until you get a new part then you are paying more attention

29 front 28 rear... wow... 38 is wayyy too high (n)

Will do that tomorrow then :D

while i've got everyones attention, what colour should i paint my brake calipers? i was thinking yellow... but that's really common... any ideas? (on a **** coloured Punto btw :p)

silver, or black (y)

Is that the one you've got on stands and filled with parts in the backyard? lol.

Oh, tyre pressures sorted, much better, there's still a slight brake pedal vibration but for the most part it's not noticable.:)

Didn't get around to washing it though :( nor did i paint the calipers... the bank was closed and i couldn't get any money

Looks like i got more work to do on monday now :p

OK, sorted the steering out... but the vibrating brake pedal is getting worse. it's doing my head in now and i'm even thinking about selling the car right now.. that's how much it's annoying me.

a few suggestions so far have been:-

Tyre pressure - OK
Tyres - Fine
Wheel Balance - As far as I know, that's also fine.
Brake Fluid - Also fine
Worn Pads - Nope, new pads about 6 weeks ago.

Anyone got ANY idea what could be causing it? i can't imagine the wobbly bolts causing it?

That's the odd thing, the brakes work fine, but they vibrate when i'm braking from above 40mph  as soon as i get below 40 it goes away... I just don't know what to do. and I'm not taking it to a Fiat dealership to be told there's nothing wrong with it but still have to pay them a load of money.

Could be warped disks can you check the runout or get it checked big wheels with lower section Tyres will be more sensitive to any out of true running deep section tyres will soak up a minor wobble. For every plus there's always a minus somewhere!:(

OK, we believe we've worked it out...

My dad reckons it's the ABS kicking in, and because of the lower profile tyres and worn discs, you can feel it through the pedal. (turns out my SX has ABS... blimey).

I went out in his car and we know his has ABS, I could feel it through the brake pedal.
