I have fitted a set of clocks from a 55 sx into my 55s but the temperature gauge isnt working. i have been reading up on the forum that all i need to do is buy a new temp sensor for an sx, is this correct? Also where is the temp sensor that i need to change?
thanks

just between TB and cam belt cover. Its a white/grey/black bottomed thing.

Was going to get mine from fiat, £10.02inc vat etc.

Went to scrappy as I couldn't be arsed waiting for fiat, £2 for a REd bottomed one, beware the thread is longer so it sticks into the head more and stick out of the head more aswell.

And to add, ever since my car has been overfueling, despite now having a 75SX ECU fitted?? Might be a weird coincidense.

If you are overfuelling I would say the wrong temp sensor is fitted therefore giving the ecu the wrong info on the engine temp and the ecu adjusting the fuel/air ratio to allow for the temperature its seeing. Mind you I think the temp sensor on that back of the head by the dipstick is only for the gauge and the ecu gets its info from elswhere.

indeed, on the SPI cars this sensor is in the inlet manifold. not sure on the MPI, but i suspect it'll be in the same place. they cost £30 from FIAT though

cheers guys, once again the source of much needed information!!
