Evening all

A quick question if someone could help me out -

I have a mk2 punto sporting. The car was Reg'd in June 2001 so is currently about 4.5 years old but she has only covered 27 K. It is due for a service in January 12 months since the last.

When will the Timing belt need to be changed, the mileage is low so it's nowhere near from that point of view but will it need to be change in June when the car is 5 years old or ??????

Many thanks in advance. I am new to the Fiat only had the car since June and nothing has needed doing since then, bar new tyres.

Cheers Steve

Yes. The belts get brittle with age. And changing the belts is cheaper than fixing the damage when they break.

Thanks people.

Anyone got any idea how much Fiat will charge for the pleasure ?

Does anyone know any good independent garages that they can recommend in the Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-Under-Lyme area if Fait are asking for the earth.

Thanks

Fiat arent too bad for some odd reason on the 16v.

Around here they charge circa 135 i was told.

Belt and tensioner are fiat only (ive never found them elsewhere) and they cost 45 iirc.

We charge 100.
