had the battery disconnected, as the car wouldnt start. had on charge overnight and reconnected the battery this morning.

still wont start!!! :bang:

Symptoms? Is the starter turning over? Is the engine trying to catch? etc.

yeah its turning over and trys to judder but just wont start. there is a little bit of effort to start, just wont

could it just be that the battery is up the duff? as the remote locking was being a bit slow during the past few days

Are you sure the alternator isn't knackered?

Possibly the battery, they have a habit of clapping out during cold spells, also the damp weather can affect the sparks.

You might get her started using jump leads from another motor, then take a trip to quick fit or the like to have a free battery / charging diagnostic test. (check with them first).

had the battery tested and its come out at 12.8, the guy at quickfit said he reckons its fuel starvation......

its not the started motor. so now i gotta check the plugs and alternator fiats :bang: lol

On my 2001 1.2 8V the fuel cut off switch is a push button on the LEFT hand side (passenger) footwell, just behind the top of teh bulkhead carpet (i.e. under the glove compartment), mounted horizontally (took some finding). Symptoms were that it would 'catch' at first turn of the key, but not keep on running -> fuel starvation, also no smell of unburnt petrol. Pressed it and the car would then start immediately (though the eobd light came (see my other post)).

well its working now. lol

got up this morning to find my mum under the bonnet, she said "shes working now charlie warlie" i was like "what you do?" .... "put the battery on charge while i had my breakfast and then put it back in, fired sencond time i tried"

my car likes my mum better. lol .now its running will take it for a drive, tomorrow break up from work so plugs will be coming out for a clean as soon as i find them :bang:
