Got a punto 1.9 diesel with a dashboard that flashes on and off for the first twenty minutes of driving then it is ok. Took it to a garage with a diagnostic computer. The only code that came up was that the heater plug relay was faulty. The car starts no problem even after being left standing for two weeks so i find it difficult to believe that is the problem.. Any clever clogs out there that can help or have had the same problem.

Hello and welcome :) Have you taken the dial unit out to check wiring and connections? If it's similar to the one in the Brava/o you can take it out without having to take the whole dash to pieces by removing the cowling in front of it.

Disconnect power to body computer for 10 minutes then plug back in(main heavy red)....if the mileage is flashing will prob need proxy-alignment,what year of punto is it?

it is a 2000 model. Where is this cable and body computer located ?

Sorry, its part of the fusebox, you will see a heavy red cable there just unclip for few mins then plug back in.As mentioned can just disconnect battery if you prefer/find easier.

You didnt say what flashes, the mileage, glow plug light, all lights etc?

All lights warning and clock back lights also trip computer. Total darkness then all light up for half a second then go out again this continues for about 30 mins then they all work. ????
