My Punto 1.9JTD 86 2004 with 164,000 miles. Four years ago I spend a fortune on my car to fix the power loss, it is done with the MAF. The auto electric rewiring new looms I think it is between ECU to MAF, he did not find or know why my car keeping have MAF faulty on occasion it is a new MAF replace another new MAF no luck, so every time when there is a faulty the car become limp and pull out, I have the diagnostic tool in my glovebox to reset the car back normal like 10 times in a year, I was fed up, but it didn't do again in the last 3 years till now it is back!

I was wondering if deleted MAF would run the car to normal?

unplug it , i run my punto 1.9jtd without maf sensor it just runs faster cause it runs on default fuel/air ratio , i am running it like that for about a year and it works like a charm.

Isn't there a problem that gives a bad MAF reading, like out of range and that's why you get error stored? Like vacuum leak. It could be. And you being upset on the MAF does not help. It's like when you mesure a temperature, you get other reading than the one you expect and you keep replacing the thermometer whith no effect, you get the sam reading.
What exactly is the error you've kept reset and what is the air pressure on that MAF reading? (Also, isn't that actually a MAP?)
