I know there are many threads on this annoying knocking noise that seems to come from the passenger side rear but I've exhausted most of them. The car is in the garage right now after trailing arm bushes were replaced. All other bushes are fine, handbrake cable coming loose has been checked, the noise is not the exhaust because it was still there with the back box and centre pipe taken off, I've tried tape around the passenger door latch spindle and checked all cables under the car are clipped in right and the back box heat shield is secure.
The only other thing I can think of is replaced the lock barrel for the boot and it is not completely central now in the hole but I drove it with the tailgate up and the knocking over bumpy Road was still annoyingly there.
One last thing. I took the door travel latches out because they were broken. Could it be that?
HELP!!??

I have a 169 Panda with an annoying rattle at the back. I looked everywhere then found the rear hatch struts were boogered and rattling on the ball joints.

100HP Panda had an annoying back end rattle that turned out to be a hand brake cable. I proved it by strapping the cable on with zip ties (noise stopped). Some bits of plastic hose, bending the brackets and more careful use of zip ties did a proper job of stopping the noise.

I have spring top rubbers at top and bottom, they protect the spring pan and probably reduce noises. Just a guess.

Ok. I've tried everything on here now.
Could the knocking be something fell through from the boot is sitting on and bouncing on the top of the petrol tank?
I bet it's a mare to take it off?

Already sat in the back with the seats down with a mate driving. Knocking is coming from just to left and slightly rearward of the fuel pump and under the car between wheel arch and spare tyre well.
I undid the bottom bolt of the shock and jacked up the car and apart from the bump stop on the bottom coil mount had sheared off everything is seated correctly and not rattling. Could it be the 3 brake pipes that disappear over the top of the fuel tank?
Seems to be in the right area for where the knocking comes from.

Already got the cover off for a previous failed attempt at getting the ring off.
Couple of holes that might've let a stray screw drop through?
This knocking only started after suspension was dropped by 15mm to stop the front end going round corners like a prancing horse on board a pirate ship.
I can't see anything wrong with the springs or mounts.
Maybe I could put original springs back on and see if that helps?

Have you found the knocking yet

Nope. I stripped the boot last weekend as a last interior investigation before swapping out the rear springs and mounts for a full original set from the breakers this week.
After that it's new shocks.

Have you looked inside the space you can see when you remove the rear lights? There is quite a large space there above the wheel arch for a lost tool or something or other. I have dropped a socket there and fished it out with a magnet at least once.
