I buggered up...!
Back story...
A couple of years ago, a friend gave me their old mk2 that had been sitting for 3-5 years. They were never gonna use it again as they now always go for lease cars (lucky them :) )

So when I took it over I was surprised it passed its MOT. Need a few minors things easily sorted.

The problem...
Then last weekend happen...

Changed front disc and pads on both sides... straight forward, then obvious next step is to fully bleed the system. Easy I thought, except I snapped my nipple clean off the rear drum (passengers side). Luckily no leaks from my over tightern.

The issue is this, after spending nearly an hour trying to remove the dam drum, a few love taps hear and there! I got nowhere! So I blindly ordered of eBay what is supposed to be the correct wheel cylinder to replace the broken one.

Yesterday I spent over 2 hours trying again to remove the bloody drum but I think that, as it has not been looked at for nearly 7 years (min), that the drum has an internal lip. Meaning the shoes are catching as the drum is not slipping off as I would expect. I did notice looking through the wheel nut holes that the tensioner is expanded quite a bit. Tried to wind it back but to no avail.
I know if I could slacken this off a bit it drum will come off.

Any suggestions?
I'm now at s complete loss.

Thanks in advance

Ps also not sure if this is an abs system or not.

Yep! Kinda thought that might be case :(

Well guess I'll be spending even more £££ on this " simple " brake job!!

I am now dreading attempting the exhaust and oil change.... what problems will this cause? (rhetorical...don't want an answer :))

Starting to miss my old mk1 Punto now, much simpler and never caused me any issues (well sort of).
