The internal adjuster for my passenger side manual Door Mirrors hasn't worked in years - I think the cables have stretched and no longer pull adequately in all directions. So if I need to adjust it I just manually push on the glass. Which holds fine until I need to clean the glass then it always moves which is then a pain to adjust.

So I saw a brand new Passenger Door Mirror on Ebay for £12 and assumed it was cheap because the car is 20+ years old and they want to get rid of old stock.

The mirror arrived today and looked really good, Some of the internals are plastic rather then the original metal which is fine for the price I paid BUT I then realised this mirror doesn't fold back or forth as would be desirable when you might accidently get clipped by another car when driving too close to another door mirror. It appears to be totally fixed in one position so if it gets clipped it will get smashed.

I always thought it was a law that Door Mirrors needed to fold if clipped ?

Im not sure it was ever a 'law'

A photo of it might help.. does it 'look identical'

To the FIAT ( vitaloni?) Unit..?

Im wondering if its just new and stiff..

Might flex ok once mounted on the door..
Later 500 style mirtors are pretty stiff.. dont seem to pivot .. so need a solid fixture to lean against

Have you asked the seller?
