Hi Buddy need some info pls for Fiat Punto Mk2 2000 year model 1.2 engine 8 valve , need to know if possible that the radiator fan can start more early it does work but i need it to start more early is there a way ? tks

Hi tks for reply , i have noticed that the fan only switch on if the engine gets very hot and only in traffic like idle for more than 20 min or so the car does not have a temp gauge only a warning icon bulb , so far it never got over heated but i see it takes long the fan to operate so i just want it to operate more early like play it on the safe side what i need to know where is the switch to operate the fan ? and what switch i can fit that starts the fan more early tks

I am supposing you do not have air conditioning if you dont have a temperature gauge. Try changing the temperature sensor. Thats the green thing at the back of the engine. Fan should come on quickly if you are in Malta, you have been driving the car a bit, and the car is not moving.

The fan operates via a relay in the engine fuse box. The two small connections for the relay operate the coil of the relay. One connection is always battery positive. The other is grounded by the ECU. If you supply a ground wire via a switch to that relay contact you can operate the fan when you want.

Tks for this info yes i saw the green sensor il try replace it with same green if fan still operate late il try another different colour maybe the black one o yes i live in Malta small hot island :)) tks again buddy
