Can someone confirm whats involved in changing a door on a 2004 Punto?

As there seems to be contradicting statements out there on the process

Do the hinges just unbolt from the car body? Or are they welded on?

I need to change a door, but I can't weld. So I need to know if I can do it myself

Thanks :)

Two regular bolts (one on each hinge).

One bolt on door check strap (silver thing between each hinge)

Disconnect the clips on the plastic tube that goes between the wing and the door. Unplug the wire (power for speaker and electric window etc.)

Installation is the reverse of removal.

That's it.

Nothing is welded on. You might need a second person to help you as it is heavy to hold and remove the bolts etc. When you've put the new door on, make sure you close it gently and slowly the first time to ensure everything is aligned correctly.

Usefull tip..
Put a jack under the door, when open, before you start taking anything off. Put some cloth or something soft between door and jack, and wind jack up until it just touches the door. This will take the weight of the door while you disconnect everything, you just need a second person to steady door, rather than take the whole weight of it.
Reverse the procedure when fitting, you can use the jack to adjust the height of the door to align holes, etc.
So much easier and less stressfull!!
