General side rubber door strips

Has anyone here taken off their side rubber strips on their mk2/2b Punto's? I saw a pic the other day of a Punto without them, it looked so much nicer, there's a line in the body work that runs down the side that you can't see when the strips are on. However, I find the strips useful in tight parking spaces, as they do tend to stop other people's doors swinging out and damaging my paintwork. Is it a good idea to remove them?

well for looks yes, go ahead and remove them but when you come back to your car one day to find a dent, were they such a good idea? id take them off my sisters car but i know full well that the dents would be , if you have lots of money then remove them cos you can afford to get dents taken out all the time, so to sum up they dont look good but are ever so practical
