Hello,

This afternoon I finally got round to changing the thermostat on my Fiat Punto 2004 1.2 Active. I removed the hose to drain the coolant having unscrewed the screw on the jubliee clip. I then removed the battery and its housing.

Next I removed the air intake filter box. Then I tried to remove the radiator hose from the end which was connected to the thermostat. However it was attached to the thermostat with a clip which I didn't know how to remove. As I couldn't remove the hose because of the clip I decided to unscrew the two bolts which hold the thermostat in place. I managed to do that and now I have the thermostat housing still attached to the end of the hose. I tried to remove the clip which holds the hose attached to the thermostat with a pair of pliers and I have damaged the clip.

I am going to buy a tool to remove the clip or cut it off. Once I have done that I need to replace the hose clip.

I want to replace with a jubilee clip. Does anyone know where I can get a quality jubilee clip which will be strong enough to hold the hose attached to the thermostat in place ? I'm not sure what size clip to get ?

If anyone can help I would be really grateful.

Sorry for the long post! Many thanks :)
