Hi guys, I have some troubles with my little sweetheart.
When I bought it (2-3 months ago), I’ve been told that it drinks around 7-7.5l/100km - which I found fair, since it’s mainly city driving and an automatic. Goes kinda hand in hand, that consumption is gonna be a bit higher in oppose to its manual brothers.
In my head, I always filled it halfway, never really counted how much I can get for half a tank.
Couple days ago I put around 13l in the tank, and I reset the tripcomp, just to see how much I can get. It was almost in zero when the trip showed 133 km. Quick maths, no matter how I count it comes around to be 10l/100km (+/-1).
I understand that it’s automatic. I understand that it’s mainly city driving. I also get that it’s a 20yo car.
But god, tell me, this cannot be real. A 1.2l 16v engine cannot consume 10l/100km.
Can someone tell me what could cause this? What should be looked at by my mechanic? Or what can I do myself?
Oh, forgot to add; it’s summer, and I didn’t even use my (working!) aircon.
Thanks in advance guys!
