Heyo,

I'm going to drain and refill my gearbox oil on my HGT and I've got some Total Transmission Gear 8 75W-80 oil - is this oil good enough for the HGT, or should I get something else?

Also, how much does it take to fill it up to max approximately? Like 2L or so?

Do I need a fluid pump, or will a hose and a funnel suffice?

The car has ~220k km, I bought it ~5k ago and I'm not sure if the gearbox oil has ever been changed, so I'd like to do it.

The one used by Fiat is the Petronas Tutela Transmission Technyx 75W-85 Synthetic-based
Or at least that's what my Fiat as been using.

The Total Transmission Gear 8 75W-80 has a different viscosity rating (vs 75W-85). So I am not sure if it would be the most correct one, but at least it's a synthetic one.

There's a drain plug at the bottom and a fill plug that also sets the level, so a funnel with a hose should be enough.

I think the 5 difference in viscosity isn't going to matter that much, seeing how I'm from Slovenia and it's never that hot/cold.

Would you also happen to know the size of the allen bolt on the drain/fill plugs? I saw that the fill plug is a size that I do not currently have, so I'd like to make sure I buy the correct ones.

Fairly sure the plug is 13mm. I use the total gear 8 and it has been fine.

Did the change, went smoothly.

Fill plug was 12mm, drain plug was 8mm.

Based on the oil that came out, I think it was in serious need of a change, gears shift amazing now as well.

All in all I used ~1.75L.
