As above chaps and ladies, I feel like I'm the worst person in the world for doing this, this little car has been my friend for years and every last job you can think of has been done and then some. Fast forward to last December, Saturday morning in the dark, off to work when this total prick drove into me. Huge dent to n/a rear door plus outer sill. Insurance wrote it off due to uneconomic to repair etc. I ended up buying a Corsavan from friend at work. Speaking of work, that's where the car is still but two weeks ago I resigned and at some point I'm expecting heat over it being stored there. I dont have any body shop skills to fix this but somebody out there does. I cant bare to let this car go to a scrap dealer, I'd rather give it to someone who can put this right and give it a new lease of life. Its rust proofed and every single component is new just about. Oil changed 3k miles or less since I bought it. I've no pictures yet, the ones on my phone I deleted simply because I couldn't bare to see it like that. If anyone wants my old mate for free, as long as it goes back on the road again, please get in touch with me. The car is stored in Hull.
Thank you for listening all of you, stay safe x

The insurance wrote the car off so surely they should have collected it from you?
When a car wrote odd it becomes there property normally unless you buy the salvage back from them?

Hi Chris, the idiots insurance paid for the car and asked if I wanted to keep it on the understanding that it must be repaired before going back on the road (rear door wont open, mot fail) I said yes of course I do. To be fair they couldn't care less once itd been inspected.

Well there loss then would think they want the car to reclaim the £100 or whatever scrap value guess not

No mate, I understand it belongs to them once they pay for it but looking back, I made such a song and dance about everything I think they were just glad to get rid of me. I was gutted mate, still am. Quite how I never strangled the blind driver is beyond me. In any other meet up he was probably a nice bloke but the red mist had descend and then some. It was actually him who rang the police who took forever to get there and then breathalysed us both. I dont mind admitting I was in bits while the nice lady traffic cop was trying to get me to blow into the tube ?
