My 2004 mk2b passenger wiper was occasionally banging the scuttle. I moved it up on the spindle but it still bangs intermittently and goes past home an inch and "bounces" back an inch. The hole in the nylon Bush doesn't seem worn oval. Any ideas?

Lift both wiper arms off the screen until they lock

Move them left to right..

Should be very little movement

Is one giving a lot more movement ?

I'm still a bit baffled after reading through the threads!
linkages or grease in motor?? seems odd its just passenger side?
Any ideas would be most welcome!

Yes..

From memory.. its in a Tubular Frame..

3 or 4 bolts hold it into the scuttle

Wriggle the 2 flat strip arms while you are there.. thats where the bulk of wear occurrs

Tried to send video on here but won't let me. I wiggled the blades and they are slack anti clockwise and clockwise. Passenger side much worse. Is that simply the nut on top of the spindle? Can I send you the video another way?

Dont bother with a video..

What blades?

You told me the wiper arms had not got any free play.. so whete is this movement?

Meant arms sorry. Now I've lifted the blades off the windscreen there is play anticlockwise and clockwise. Had a look at the linkage first point of connection and the clip and joint is loose allowing the twist play. Pass side is looser
