Styling Punto HGT-V (van)

The van is on the forum classified and Fiat page on Facebook.

What to do with the HGT's.

I have a pair of Abarth bumpers, Abarth wheels, and the blue car needs lacquer and minor paint repairs.

New plan.

Restomod the blue car. Use the money from the van to buy paint for the bumpers, break the rest pf the yellow project for spares, use the best bits on the blue car and sell/scrap the rest of old yellah. :bang:

Not ideal but the best I can do until I can get back to work properly and earn real money again.

Part of me wanted to sell the blue and yellow HGT's so I could buy my rally car back but that's a pipe dream right now and even though tracks are opening I still can't afford to blow £100 in petrol.

Sold the van for £300 meh.

Still undecided what to do with the blue HGT and yellow HGT van project. As tempting as it is to use the good parts from the yellow to make the blue even better, the blue car is original and cars are only original once. As much as I like the lower springs, stiffer bushes and other useful upgrades from the yellow HGT it could devalue the blue car.

I'd definitely leave the blue car in standard spec, especially given how incredibly rare HGTs are nowadays.

I prefer a car standard, but as rare as HGT’s are they just don’t hold any value and you can bet even if John doesn’t modify it the next person or the next one will. They’re sadly not a car that people hold in particularly high reguarding.

They’re not a bad car by any means but they were only 130bhp at a time when that was a not far of the normal power levels of a Ford Focus or Vauxhall’s Astra.

It's sad, you look at the prices of similar era Fiesta Zetac S (100bhp) or ST (150bhp) they go for 3 or 4 times the money that HGTs do.
I do like a classic Fiat and would love a HGT, I don't think they'll go down in value but they aren't going to go up too much either.
Same with the Uno Turbo i.e, they're going for hardly anything (comparatively) against what an XR2 goes for.

Door, B pillar, skirt, outer sill, inner sill, door step, rear quarter and floor bent at the jacking point. Inner sill has compromised the lower seat belt mount. The insurance guys are coming out Monday but I'm not optimistic. The car pulled to the left on the way home so I imagine she's a write off. :(

Last post for this thread.

The yellow van project has gone and the engine will be used to help get a Barchetta back on the road. :)

Some bits left on eBay...

...see other items. If they're not listed they're not available.

Next?

I have an idea for the Uno project and Friday I'll be getting my old Panda Fizz back.

I am still on the look out for a Calypso Orange HGT if I can find one I'll be sure to start another thread. :)

Just a pointer kind of a note to self. Next time get an agreed value policy. I did with my green HGT and other cars in the past but I didn't with the blue car and was given book price by the insurance. Not ideal considering that was a fraction of what the car owed me and would have been worth in a few to five years time. My plan was to keep the blue HGT in good order and condition hoping it would be the Uno Turbo, Punto GT. Never mind eh?
