Looking to get clutch, timing belt & water pump done, anything else?

Hi,

I'm looking to get my clutch, timing belt + water pump replaced, would anyone recommend anything else to be done at the same time that won't cost a fortune ?

I was thinking about the clutch release fork as-well but not sure how much that would cost.

Thanks.

May as well get an oil and filter change done at the same time.
How does the cam cover gasket look? If there is any sign of leakage then it could be worth changing that too, if it is clean and dry, leave well alone.
Ummm, another thing that could be worth looking at is the brake fluid, do you know how long since that was changed?

Miles dependant ..maybe get the valves checked.
Why you getting clutch done?...
Any history of the car?..miles etc?
FYI clutch/brake fluid, same thing and share the same master cylinder.

Oil, filter & brake fluid all recently done.

I was thinking about getting the gaskets done ( cylinder head, rocker cover etc ), but I don't think that would be cheap. I don't currently have issues with leaking so I'll probably leave it alone.

50k Miles, 8V, the clutch release bearing needs replacing, there's no slipping on the clutch ( plenty of meat left ) but it's probably best to get a new kit fitted.

As for the timing belt + water pump, not sure it's ever been replaced and car is 15+ years old now so probably best to do that at same time as clutch and have piece of mind it won't need doing for a long time.

Was just wondering if there's anything else mechanically which you would change when doing clutch + timing belt i.e. any other belts that need changing ?

Thanks

Hi!
If you have an 8V engine maybe checking the valve clearange, it is much easier to do with the toothed belt off if you do it right (all pistons at same hight), if you don't know howto, just forget it, there is a risk of bending some valves.
