Hi,

I bought a 2004 Fiat Punto mk2 sporting with a 1.4 16v and 6 speed for my son as his first car.
Now it's almost MOT time and it seems one of the covers of the right front axle is leaking.
There are enough second hand axles for sale and was thinking of changing the whole axle instead of repairing the rubber cover.
My question is, are the axles of the 5 speed gearbox the same as for the 6 speed?

The 6 speed seems to be a rare gearbox..

Those are really cheap!
But I live in The Netherlands, here they are about 90,- euros.
Only 35,- for good second hand.
Both gearboxes have the same axles? 5/6 speed

I don't know for sure, but you could email and ask J&R how much it'd cost to post to NL, might work out cheaper than local new, and at least it'll be guaranteed as opposed to 2nd hand which might not be.
