Hi,

I cannot reinstall the electronic headlight beam adjustment motor once removed, because it would need counter-pressure from the bulb side, where I couldn't get. I draw a picture to explain the problem, see attachment.

The headlight parabolic is freely hanging on a hinge. To adjust the beam, electronic adjuster has a pin with ball head clipped inside the parabolic, which extends/retracts and thus adjusts the angle of the entire parabolic (Fig.A and Fig.B on the image).

Problem: once this ball-headed pin is clipped out (because the whole adjuster motor+head assembly was pulled out - a friend thought he's replacing bulb), it won't clip back inside, because the pressure just pushes the entire headlight parabolic away without clicking inside.

Hence instead, it only pushes on the headlight parabolic from behind, thus increasing the beam angle so that it aims... Like anti-aircraft light (Fig.C on the image).

I cannot hold the parabolic from the inside/rear, hence some contra-pressure on the parabolic from the bulb-side/front would be needed so that the adjuster's head would click back into the parabolic. But obviously, I cannot get there without removing the glass headlight cover.

Is there a way to fix this and clip the adjuster motor's head back into the headlight parabolic, WITHOUT having to unmount wheel, front bumper and pull out entire headlight assembly?

(I mean, this has to happen all the time, since the motor pulls out just like bulb, is located in between the bulbs, and isn't labeled in any way.)

Thanks, but where do you push with the screwdriver? The hole for adjuster motor in the headlight would be fully occupied by the motor itself, and the motor would be fixed in place by it's locking lugs, so...?

It was not possible to manually turn the adjuster head. The servo inside proved too much resistence.

In the end, I managed to reinstall the adjustment motor by pulling the parabolle over it's head, by removing the low beam bulb, pushing fingers thru towards where the adjuster servo's hed was, and pulling the parrabole towards the adjuster head.

Only it took me like 50 attempts and 2 hours. Meh.

All is well that ends well I suppose. Bit frustrating all the same. Thanks for letting us know how you did it.
