Quick one.... Is the sump on a MK2 1.2 the same as the Mk1 1.2

I'd guess it should be. I've changed the one on my mk2, pain of a job. Your auto spares shop should be able to cross reference for you on non oem parts.

Part number 46515152 is listed on both Mk1 and Mk2 for the 1.2 8v. The Mk2 did also have a 1.2 16v, which uses a different sump so just make sure it's the 8v you have.

Thanks for the replies. I saw severally sumps for sale but the cheapest by far stated it was for a Mk1 so wanted to make sure.


Now I just need to replace new for old!

I am part way through removal but can't access the rear of the sump which is still stuck with silicon. Can you offer any advice please. I've got the car up on axle stands
