Hello everyone,

I'm going to change the slave and master cylinders for the clutch on an mk2 in a few days. Could any of you guide me through it? I have a general understanding about it but any tips are welcome.

Have a nice day

Hi, basicly you need to remove the two screws holding the cylinders, disconnect the hydraulic pipes by removing the clips holding them. Don't forget to put some bowl under to catch the brake fluid, and wear protective gloves, glasses to protect your skin and eyes, brake fluid is very harmful. Then put the pipes on the new cylinders, screw them back, fill in new brake fluid and bleed the cylinders.

Some fancy images can be found here about the cylinders:

Bleeding secondary (new name for slave cylinder)
Is removing clip and pulling hose back about 5mm ish
This will let fluid out tje bleed nipple

It loos like a straight forward job

Removing battery tray will make life easier

A blob of grease on secondary to lever on tje gearbox helps ensure its a smooth feel

Id suck 90% of old fluid out tank with a turkey baister and fill with fresh
This way you get fresh work its way down

I did not yet get to it, lot's of work lately. But thanks for the comments!
