Hello can i install a 205/45/R17 wheel on PuntoMK2 1.2 8v ?
Will I have problems with those wheels ?

i got 205/40r17 on my mk2b, mk2, mk2b differant engines it doent matter, all mk2 are the same regarding wheel arches, yes you can defenetly fit 205,45r17 but it all depends on what wheels you will use. ,

i would suggest that you go for 205/40r17 insted of 205/45r17 because you get alot more options and generaly cheaper tires for /40 than /45

that does not help me at all, the link you sent is not important.

do you have the rims at home? probbly not because you could just put them on and see if they fit right?

send me a link of the advertisment page where you want to buy the rims. or ask the seller to tell you the J(wheel width) and ET.

i see that the wheels are grand punto stock wheels, i would suggest that you dont go for them. if you want 17" go aftermarket.

they will fit, but you need a 12-15mm spacers in the front and 20mm spacers in the back. Which means also longer wobbly bolts. not worth the hussle for that wheel. also tire is abit thicker sidwall than mine, i cant guarantee fitment for that, i have custom rear bumper and my /40 barly fit (2-3mm space till bumper), i dont know if and how much stock bumper has more space.

195/45r17 are expensive tires, like 205/45r17 aswell, best are 205/40r17.. it doesnt matter what motor it is, you just asked if they will fit.the wheels will fit on the car. other problems you will have

1. like flisko mentioned, 17" on 1.2 8v punto is to much, not enought horsepower, you car will be slow and alot of stress on components.
2. You wont be able to homolgate those rims because they are oem punto but not for your car, maybe you get lucky and MOT never notices(unlikly) and cops ignore it because it says punto on the wheel cap.

As i mantioned before, puting this heavy oem 17" wheeels on punto is usless.. if u want 17" go for something lightwaight, good looking, aftermarket wheels.

Dont fit owt bigger than 195's on 15s

Why?

1 the differential cant handle large wheels
They are made of cheese

2- you start getting rubbing on archs and thats not allowed on uk roads

3 - the punto is a very light car
Sticking wide tyres on does not increase your grip as there is insufficient pressure been exerted to make the tyres touch the road
You may be fine in the summer - but winter/rain youll find youll aqua plan way too easily

4 - see point above - you will probably find the abs will be activating more as tyres struggle to grip

5- id suggest a retrack to ensure the new rubber aint gonna destroy itself

6- calculate carefully - ensure it isnt knockin the speedo out

7- i think the image show above were grande punto which are a vauxhall setup 4x100
Not the fiat 4x98 pcd
Wobble bolts may be needed and the world is split on if they are safe or not....

And for the wheels 195 / 45R16 will be all right?

This is all relative, you need to get the offset right, you would also you need to use a wheel calculator to make sure the new tyres will have the same rolling circumference as the original wheels.

17” wheels will fit but they can be very tight, 16 would be better but bear in mind what Ziggy122 said, big wheels can put a lot of strain on weaker parts so you could damage your gearbox or differential.

well i must say i have been running 205/40r17 tires on 17x7 ultraleggeras, with 12mm and 20mm spacers and wobbly bolts(oversized, spacers and wobbly bolts=the deadly trio) on my 1.3jtd punto for around a year now as my daily driver, around 15000 km driven, and i havent had any problems yet.i wont say its a good idea or that it doesnt wear components faster. but ill say its not as bad as some people think or say it is
