My son has recently bought his first car (Punto 1.2 active) took it out for around a 40 mile trip & eml came on, code was p0115 over temperature but gauge hasn't gone above halfway and engine didn't get hot if anything I would say it is under temperature as coolant in expansion bottle is not that hot.
I have changed the temperature sensor deleted the code & took it out again to have the same code again after around same distance.
I have done a search on here which came up with various possibilities inc battery maff sensor & thermostat I will check the battery later but don't think it is causing an issue as the car starts without any problem & eml doesn't come on for several miles.
So thinking either maff sensor failed or thermostat stuck open perhaps, interested to hear anyone elses thoughts & ideas.
