I had problems with my exhasut once, when i accelerated medium/hard (mainly first gear) *setting off* Under my car i would hear a CRRTCHH! and it felt like the performance was lacking... so i was like hmm.. took to exhaust centre.. they said it was my Catalyst.. so fair enough.. got a new one.. the beauty felt like a brand new car! and now.. after 3-4 weeks passed. Its back again, any ideas what it could be etc? I was thinking of just buying a De-Cat since it would be alot more strenghend? (dunno if im right) and whats ur views on de-cat pipes? Cheers.

its common sense.the cat technicaly a blockage to the exhaust gasses. okay you need some back pressure on an N/A engine but removing the cat lets the engine breathe more easily.(covornia for cars complemented by a decent induction system is best or a turbo

i dont know about de cats but without one would it fail the emisions?? might be worth taking the car bk where you had it done and tel them the problem might be a faulty cat so they should change it on warrenty

True, but if you do it right, then your de-cat pipe shouldnt be permanent, and when MOT time comes, then you should be able to just put your old Cat back in and have it a bit naffer agen, til the MOT time has passed
