This is going to be a pretty desperate cry for help. I was trying to sell my black punto so I used one of those Halfords "Back to Black" external trim-restore sprays. Only thing is, it doesn't tell you not to let it overspray onto glass and paintwork.

Now I've got this nasty glue-like residue all around the trim areas. On the side windows and mirrors I can get it off by using water and an ice-scraper for about 15 mins. But strangely enough I don't want to do that to the bodywork.

Can anyone help? It looks a state, and I've washed it like 5 times since!

Hi,

Try the Tar Remover solution from Halfors, can't remember the name but it is in the plane white bottles. It will take it off easily, but you will have to add polish afterwards as it removes that as well.

I used it on my 1 year old BMW and it didn't damage the paint work at all.

Poggy
