Hi all need a bit of help, front strut and wheel bearing needs changed ,Was looking at used parts, and do not know what will fit , my car is the punto active sport, one spare i was offered was punto evo ?. amongst others, are the struts the same and what about the hubs ?.. what is the easiest way to find out, looked at new parts on internet done a search with evo and active both gave the same parts code ?.. any info would be great .. thanks..

No no no no

Grande punto and punto evo are nowt like a punto
The new ""2012 punto"" aint the same either
They are shared platform with the vauxhall corsa

You need to keep with the mk2 (1999 - 2003 '03') to mk2b (2003 '53' - 2006) era

You are a mk2 been a 2002

Id be dubious about fitting a 2nd hand shock....
Wheel bearing(in hub) id give a whammy at tho 2nd hand

Ok many thanks for the reply,
Just bought the car , and the fella that sold it hit a kerb, passenger side, and damaged the inside of the alloy and now the camber is of , negative i think,(wheel leans in at top ) and the wheel bearing is noisy , but the car drives great and straight , no pulling to the side.? And was going to change the strut and hub as a complete unit to see if it helped with the camber ?.. do not want to spend a lot of money on new parts if it will not fix the problem ..May sound silly but have to start somewhere...Can not see any other damage or anything bent.
and can not find any info on any camber adjustment ??
I may be stupid and looking at the repair the wrong way ??.

make sure theres no play in the bottom arm balljoint
if this arm looks all good then i would do as you suggest, get another strut and hub and fit it complete, swap the disc over from your car bobs a good one
problem is these cars are getting on now so probably not as easy to source second hand

£20 for a second hand hub from the bay

I would change the lower arm as well as the shock then you know its all done from a straight car.

message the guy above and see what will do for you(y)

Checked the link and does not post to so called highlands and islands.. (n) Hard to get anything posted up north..If you do then you have to pay extra .. post codes who needs them:bang:
