Hi , I have a 2003 punto the windows have never failed on me , last night the window went all of the way down with no trouble but woukdnt go back up , I took the door card off , wd40 on everything and all was ok , tested it for a while , all good , I then replaced door card and same again ! , if i slam the door or hit area where motor is then it starts up again , It goes up and down no problem , also closes without issue., however if you open it fully it gets stuck , also motor although smooth and quiet got very hot , can anyone offer a solution to this , thanks

If the motors getting hot - its forcing too much current without moving (short circuiting esentially)

Whats causing the window to stick at the bottom?

Failing that - id throw a 2nd hand unit in and see if it cures it

Ok its sort of sticking where it wants now , just a quick question , knowing that the cable passes through the motor , if I buy just the motor do I need to open it up and feed cable through ,im not taking the whole assembly out because I know ill do a Norman Wisdom and drop the glass !

Just had a thought if I can take the motor out without taking the whole cable assembly out then it might be worth opening up and having a look anyway
