Direction indicator lights not working

Hello guys, I am new to this forum so first of all I am glad to join the FIAT family forum!

Second I have a problem with my punto mk2 (1.2, 16v, ELX model), basically my direction indicator signals are now "dead" (same the hazard lights)

The checks I've done so far:

- checking the fuses (F53 + others for safety) and are ok
- change the entire light switches assembly
- checked the tail lights sockets

The bulbs are ok because they are flashing when using the central locking and so the dashboard lights indicators (but clicking faster than usual)

Knowing that the relay is embedded into the body computer I have open it but I can't identify the relay without having the "map" of the circuits board:confused:

The returned error is : 9007- direction indicator, no symptom, Permanent but I didn't find this error anywhere....

Any ideas will be much apreciated:worship:
Do you think is the body computer?

Regards,
Florin

Apreciate your answer mate :)
I have changed dash panel which has embedded The harazd light, Windows, City butons etc (indeed is a secondhand one- but what would be The chances for both to have the same problem)

I Will check The connections again-just în case..

Meanwhile any suggestion will be apreciated

You have misunderstood Multipete.

He is talking about the hazard warning switch which is near the heater controls. The red switch with the triangle.

Maybee I did and I appologyse if so :( or maybee I was not clear or we have a diffeeent understanding :)

I wanted to say that hazard light switch is embadded into the dash panel with the Windows, City and other butons (so is not an individual switch) which are all controlled by an electronic board - see attached picture

Nevertheless I really apreciate your suport - good discussion so far :)

Sorry. You were correct. Dash panel was correct. I was thinking of the instrument cluster when I read that.

Nevermind mate- **** happens :)
Any new ideas?
Where can I find The error Code from above? Is there anywere a "map" in understanding the ECU board circuits?

i seem to remember you can actuate these in mes?this would cofirm bsi failure

my opinion what with what you are saying and the age of the vehicle that the bsi has gone faulty, last one with an indicator problem i took to bits and found water ingress damage on the pcb
remember the bsi is coded to the ecu and keys so you would need to change all 3 to get car right plus bsi would need to be minimum same spec to your car or better
hth

Apreciate your time to add your inputs here! :)

That's what I am afraid off :(
I will take the body computer for inspection to a specialist for checking if can be repaired.

Keep you posed with the outcome

Just for me to make sure I understand: bsi= body computer from inside the car (conected with the fusebox)
ECU= The one from computer from The motor

Thanks again!

hi
yes
bsi attached to fuse box/they split
ecu on the inlet manifold
before taking to ecu expert, ive seen plenty of these guys who know jack ****
consider what i said via ebay,ecu/bsi/keys/locks,these are old cars so bargains should be had:)

Hello guys comming back with updates...Problem fixed!!! - with some regrets because I didnt followed the recomanded procedure of replacing the body computer+engine ecu, etc

That's why I do not want this post to be considered as a recomanded solution and more like as a improvised solution- so please don't judge just take it as it is

What I did, was to go to a electrician, he identified the relay on the circuit board (the blue box) and then he sticked some wires to the back of The board just right where the relay is mounted and connect those wires to a external relay (a clasic one)

The warning lights + direction are now working but they flash faster than usual because is no longer controlled by the body computer.

Meanwhile I fuond that blue relay and I will replace this improvisation for safety purposes :)

Hope this post will help!!!
