Hello. During a recent self-service, I removed the plugs and noticed the gap had gotten quite big. So binned and replaced with current NGK plugs, gapped correctly. Now the engine idle is pretty rough and occasional lag when pulling off in 1st gear. Anyone got ideas where to start please? HT leads? Coil pack? Clean throttle body? Cheers x

First check that everything is pluged ok .

Do you mean the act of tugging them during removal can cause damage?

Yep,
Modern leads have a core of carbon often coated on fibres pulling the caps off by the leads rather than grasping the body or the cap can break the connection.

One of the new plugs could also be faulty. I always keep the last old set (unless known to be faulty) just in case.
